Graduation Day (part 1)

Intro: Cordelia complains about the maroon graduation gowns. Xander doesn't think he's getting out of school alive. Students sign each other's yearbooks. The mayor will be the graduation speaker. Faith kills geology professor Lester Wirththe mayor wanted him dead.

Act 1: At Faith's apartment, she tries on a pink dress. She doesn't like it, but Wilkins does. He says the Ascension is her day to blossom. Percy thanks Willow for her help. Anya wants to go out with Xander this weekend. Giles and Buffy don't know why Faith killed Lester. Anya tells Buffy, Giles, Price, and Xander about the Ascension she witnessed. Anya says Buffy has been fighting "tainted demons"-human/demon hybrids. At the Ascension, a human becomes pure demon. Snyder walks Wilkins through the ceremony. Wilkins thanks Snyder for keeping order. Wilkins interrupts the library meeting. He says he's going toeat Buffy. Ciles stabs him-to no avail.

Act 2: Anya decides tofleethe area. Buffy packs for her mom-she wants her to leave town so Buffy won't be worried about her during the battle. Willow tries to find a spell to stop the Ascension. Giles asks Angel to assist Buffy, but she doesn't want it. While they argue in the street, Faith shoots an arrow through Angel.

Act 3: As Buffy tends to Angel in the library, Price learns that Wirth had found a large carcassperhaps a dinosaur-in a lava bed. Giles says if it's a demon, then the mayor can be killed after he turns into the demon. Angel's shoulder is numb-the arrow was poisoned. Oz and Willow sleep together. Wilkins needs to eat several of the spiders from the box. Xander picks up supplies at the magic shop for Willow. Anya wants Xander to drive away with her. Buffy looks after Angel at the mansion. Price tells Buffy that the Council won't help analyze the poison, so Buffy says she's not working for the Council any more. Giles sides with Buffy. At the school, Willow tells Buffy the cure for Angel is to drain the blood of a Slayer. So Buffy will bring him Faith-after Buffy kills her.

Act 4: Willowfinds Faith's newaddress. Buffy finds Faith at her new apartment. They fight. Buffy handcuffs the two together so Faith can't escape. Wilkinseatsthe spiders. Faith escapes from her handcuff. She notices Buffy has her bladethe gift from Wilkins. Buffy stabs Faith-but she leaps onto a passing truck.
